Photos by Lara Skla Absolut arrived in South Africa in late 1998 and spent a year of not only sampling, but actively participating in the South African Hip-Hop scene. He DJ'ed on Gauteng's Y FM and made sure that Hip-Hop heads had a little more to listen to than usual. He also DJ'ed at a number of parties and clubs and made quite a name for himself in the relatively short time that he was here. This interview was conducted a couple of days before he left to go back to America and found him in a reflective mood.
